Every 26 seconds a student drops out of high school and that’s over 1.2 million teenagers every year.
So we’re recruiting voices to help bring those numbers down. Join us in achieving our goal of sharing these inspirational stories with over 1.2 million people.
Your voice has power. In fact, it could inspire another student to stay in school. So tell us: What are your daily struggles? What gives you hope about your future? Who or what has inspired you to follow your dreams? Getting involved could impact someone else’s life and make you a winner in more ways than one.
Just send a tweet using the #iAMtheLight, or #180SchoolDays hash tags, or upload your 26 second story using the button on this page.

About The Campaign
iAM Advertising is the only accredited ad agency run by students from The High School for Innovation in Advertising and Media (IAM) in Brooklyn, New York. It was hired by NBPC and tasked with developing an awareness campaign for its PBS documentary series, “180 Days: A Year Inside an American High School.”
In the months that followed, #IAMtheLight was born. This social media campaign calls attention to the drop out epidemic by amplifying the voices of students in the conversation about education reform. Through a series of personal video clips that are 26-seconds long, social media messages via Facebook and Twitter, and an online film festival, kids inspire kids by highlighting the challenges they face to stay in school and the hope that keeps them there.
